Educators

Medowie Gumnut Preschool has achieved several awards since its establishment in 1992. Our most recent achievement has been under going assessment and achieving an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’ all National Quality Standards. We have been awarded “2014 Trainee of the Year in Children’s Services”, overall “Trainee of The Year – Hunter Region”, and runner up for “2016 Trainee of the Year – Children’s Services”. Gumnuts has also been given an award for the “Small Green Steps” for Sustainability Program – Level 3.

Sharon Hales
Director & Educational Leader

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Education. She is a mother of 2, enjoys horse riding, the beach, camping, photography, boating and snow skiing. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she is the Owner/Director of Medowie Gumnut Preschool.

Tarryn Warby
Educator

Currently studying her Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care, Tarryn values each child’s beliefs, interests, skills and strengths and provide a space where children feel welcome, comfortable and safe in their learning environment.

Mikaylah Freund
Educator

Mikaylah holds a Certificate 3 and Diploma in Child Care. She values acceptance, a sense of belonging for each child, play, as an integral part of early childhood learning to develop the whole child, potential of each child and staff, partnerships with families, staff and our community.

 

Rosemary Humphreys
Educator

Rosemary holds a Diploma of Children’s Services – Early Education & Care and believes that the early years of children’s lives are the most critical when it comes to their development and learning. Rosemary aims to provide a safe, comfortable, stimulating, fun and educational environment following children’s needs and developmental milestones.

Kiara Tanner
Educator

Holding her Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care, Kiara's interests include snow skiing, camping and she is also passionate about animals.

Kiara believes that children learn through play and that each child is unique.

Angela Henderson
Educator

Angela holds a Certificate 3 in Community Services and feels it is important to form positive relationships with the children and their families .

Angela believes that it is important to hear every child's voice and cater for them as individuals. Learning through play is a concept I am passionate about, and i will ensure open ended opportunities for children to explore, discover, imagine and create.
